Project Timeline
We successfully launched the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in 8 months.
My Role
As the Project Manager for Ajotsome, I led the development and implementation of the platform. My responsibilities included project planning, team coordination, stakeholder management, and ensuring the successful launch and adoption of the service.
Challenges Faced
One of the main challenges we faced was ensuring accessibility and ease of use for users with limited technological literacy. Additionally, integrating real-time transaction tracking functionality while maintaining data security posed a significant technical challenge.
Approach
To address these challenges, we took a user-centric approach to design and development, prioritizing simplicity and accessibility in the platform's interface and user experience. We ran two-week sprints to gain valuable feedback quickly. We also conducted extensive user testing and feedback sessions to refine the platform's features and functionality.
Solutions Implemented
We implemented a streamlined user interface with a minimalistic design to make the platform accessible to users with varying levels of technological literacy. Additionally, we integrated a secure third-party payment processor to manage payment transactions.
Results and Achievements
The launch of Ajotsome resulted in a significant increase in financial inclusion among the unbanked population, with thousands of users (artisans, local traders) adopting the platform to manage their savings.
Lessons Learned
A key takeaway from this project was the importance of ensuring that the MVP remains very simple and in line with the project goals.
